HAW's Bockenem facility has its own rail connection — a unique capability in Europe. Tank wagons arrive directly at our workshop by rail, are blasted, lined, vulcanised in our autoclaves, tested, and returned to service without ever needing road transport.
Because the rail connection runs straight into the workshop, tank wagon servicing follows the same shop-lining process HAW uses for tanks and pressure vessels — climate-controlled application, autoclave vulcanisation, and full QC laboratory support — rather than a compromised on-site process adapted for rolling stock.
Rail Arrival

Surface Preparation
Interior sandblasted to SA 2.5/3 standard, the foundation for lasting adhesion.
Lining & Vulcanisation
Rubber applied and cured in HAW's autoclaves — the same shop-lining process used for tanks and vessels.
Testing & Return
Spark tested, thickness verified, documented, and returned to service by rail.
